Baby Acorns is our group for babies from newborn right up untiL they are fully fledged toddlers, and are ready to join our toddler group, Twiglets!
Our next 6 week block will begin in Early April.
We are SO PLEASED to let you know that we have another 6-week block of Baby Acorns coming!
Dates: Wednesday afternoons, starting on Wednesday 1st November-Wednesday 6th December
Time: 12.30-2.30pm
Location: Hinchingbrooke Country Park
SPACES AVAILABLE NOW!
Being in nature has so many benefits including lifting your spirits and helping you cope with the ups and downs of parenting.
The sessions are unstructured and whilst providing your babies lots of different sensory experiences and play opportunities, you are also more than welcome to just relax around the fire with a hot drink and chat to other parents!
It is very much a group for just "being" rather than "doing".
We will cook a campfire snack each week and have hot drinks available.
Our sessions are based in a beautiful section of woodland at Hinchingbrooke Country Park, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. We will set up a magical space each week which will be under the wonderful tree canopy.
Each week we will have various sensory experiences planned for your babies, little baskets of natural treasures to encourage exploration and a craft for you to do, if you wish.
We will also put up a variety of swings and hammocks to provide your little ones the all-important vestibular input, and they are rather relaxing for the grown-ups too!
Due to the sessions having a free flow approach there will also be plenty of time for chatting, making friends and seeking advice or support from one another.
If your baby ends up sleeping during the session, please don’t worry, still come! And enjoy a craft, relax in the hammock, enjoy the fire, and drink a hot drink (whilst its hot too!!). The group is just as much (if not more!) for YOU as it is for your baby.
We hope for these sessions to be somewhere that you can make friends, connect with other local families and feel part of a little woodland community.
Wednesdays 12.30-2.30pm.
Our sessions will be very unstructured, there will be no expectation of each session in terms of anyone doing particular activities at certain times, as lets face it, babies are on their own timings! We know that your baby’s nappy may need changing, baby may need feeding, or pushing to sleep or so on, so we do not want anyone to feel like there is something specific you should be doing at any given time.
This time is for you to enjoy quality time and peace with your baby, read under the tree canopy, enjoy our sensory baskets, engage in a mindful moment with a simple nature craft by the fire, relax in a hammock with your baby feeling the breeze on your face, scents of the woodland and flickering of the tree canopy above.
Each week we will have various sensory experiences planned for your babies. We will little create baskets of little treasures each week for your baby to explore throughout the session.
There will also be various swings, hanging pods and hammocks available throughout the session to offer your little ones the all-important vestibular input.
There will also be some crafts available which may be focused on baby or may be for the parent/carer for a little mindfulness time!
We will drink herbal and fruit teas around the campfire (although, don’t worry good quality coffee/tea with full caffeine will also available! As lets face it, we all need it!).
Spending time in nature has so many incredible benefits for both you and your baby.
Research shows there are benefits of being outdoors for our physical, emotional and mental well-being.
